Dental Implants Year Course 2017 - 10 Modules on the course
The aim of this Dental Implant Year Training Course is not only to clinically train the dentists in implantology, but also to educate their practice team on how to support the dentist and integrate implants as a treatment option into the practice.
Unlike many implant year courses, this course is intended for the dental team to ensure the practice will be fully prepared when implants become a treatment option.
This course is limited to 20 dentists and their associated dental teams. Each delegate will be linked to a regional mentor for support and guidance throughout the course. Under the guidance of a mentor, each delegate will be expected to complete 3 documented cases including:
This course will consist of 10 modules over a period of 10 months starting in March 2017 and running through to November 2017. Days 1, 2 and 10 will be devoted to the dental team.

Anthony Summerwill
Having worked as a consultant in Restorative Dentistry for over 14 years at Birmingham Dental Hospital, Anthony left the NHS in 2015 and now works in a specialist referral practice in Edgbaston. He is a director of the Westbourne Centre, one of the biggest independent poly clinics in the UK. He is on the GDC specialist lists in Restorative Dentistry, Prosthodontics and Periodontology and is an ITI fellow and a board member of the International Academy of Oral and Facial Rehabilitation. Anthony is heavily involved in post graduate education and has lectured nationally and internationally. In 2015, he became a co-director of Step Education with the aim of offering structured education programs for dental professionals.
James Hamill
James is a GDP who has been placing and restoring implants for 14 years. He is a passionate educator of those starting out on their implant journey. In 2010, he became an ITI Fellow for his contribution to education within the organisation. He is the Clinical Director of Blueapple Dental & Implant Team and established the popular Blueapple Study Club for his fellow clinicians. He is also the co-founder of and speaker for Step Education postgraduate learning.
Paul Swanson
Paul owns a specialist referral practice in Liverpool and contributes to the multidisciplinary cases done by his team. He mentors dentists at both entry level and in advanced implantology and contributes to many study clubs in his region. Paul is the co-director of IDEAL — an organisation running dental courses for all members of the dental team.
Marcos White
Marcos White is Practice Owner and lead cosmetic dentist at The Courtyard.
He is passionate about raising the profile of high quality restorative dentistry and also the environment that it is carried out in. To this end he has built a stylish practice and a team of staff that care for their patients from the moment they walk through the door. He and his team have won a number of awards since setting the practice up 5 years ago.
Marcos and the practice have been shortlisted for an impressive 14 awards over the years including Most Attractive Practice and Private Dentist of the Year. They have won 4 awards including the WOW award for practice design and customer service, Best Marketing, Most Innovative Practice and were voted the country’s best private practice at the Private Dentistry Awards.
