Dr. William Clark, a Scottish Orthodontist, is the inventor of the Twin Block Technique and author of “Twin Block Functional Therapy -Applications in Dentofacial Orthopaedics”. The Twin Block appliance is now the most widely used functional appliance in the world. Recently, Dr. Clark has developed the Transforce Lingual Appliance and Nemoceph software. The Transforce Appliance has a wide range of applications for correction of arch form in all classes of maloccluion. In collaboration with Nemoceph, he has produced a computer program for Arch Development Planning (ADP), and Functional Treatment. Objectives (FTO) for prediction of the response to functional mandibular protrusion.
Dr Clark is the first recepient of an award of distinction from the British Orthodontic Society for outstanding contribution to the specialty of orthodontics. In 2008 he recieved the first award from the International Functional Association (IFUNA) for personal outstanding international service tofunctionalism and orthodontics.
